Weekend at Alaska Lake!

Shirley and I spent the weekend at longtime friend–since grade school–Al Stangel and his wife, Sue; home located on Alaska Lake near Kewaunee, WI. Al’s home is also adjacent to a golf course where Al says it’s not uncommon to have golf balls bounce off his house, and hoops and hollars resound in early hours when a difficult putt is made.

Joining us were Al’s brother, Don, and his wife Sharon. Don, by the way, taught me how to play guitar when I was about 15 (Don’s considerably older than me).

We jammed on guitar for probably the gazillionth time; still playing the old songs learned years ago. What a grand time reliving the fun. Sharon is seen singing lead while Don and I, Sue and Shirley, accompany her.

We enjoy reminiscing about all the fun times though the nearly 50-odd(?!) years we’ve known each other; often wondering how we made it this far!

Al and Sue have a lovely home on the shores of a much smaller, but quaint and cozy Alaska lake. Lake Michigan can be seen in the distance.

We were there to celebrate Sue’s 60th birthday!  Which reminds me, “HAPPY 60TH, SUE!

Al and Sue enjoy their home, the view (especially the sun/moonrises) and the waters of Alaska Lake just as much as you and I enjoy life here at Kelly Lake.  We had a grand stay on another great lake, Alaska Lake!  Rog and Shirley
