Here are some photos from Shirley’s portfolio I found from around our yard and garden (click to enlarge):

Ah, let it be. They don’t drink that much!

Great Blue Heron taking flight during a pontoon cruise.

Cedar wax wing, Shirley’s favorite aviary, built a nest in one of our apple trees across the road.

Knowing that it’s her favorite bird, Shirley’s brother, Jay Stewart, stopped by the other day with a surprise for his sister (us); a hand-carved cedar wax wing! Jay’s an extremely talented artist/carver! Jay also has only one eye! The photo doesn’t do the detail justice.

Garden shots.

We’ll have a half-dozen or more feeding on our fallen apples across the road including a couple fawns! The resident porcupine will often be amongst them. We’ve watched the fawns since early spring and are quite docile and we’re able to get near.

Up on her haunches, she picks apples that won’t fall!

Last weekend when temps around 70. Warm air on cold ice developed fog. Earlier, you couldn’t see the point.

October Sunrise.

Fall has taken its hold the last few days. Last night temp got down to 34.4. Today will be partly cloudy, in the mid-50s. This photo taken Friday morning.
