POTD: Door County ’07 tour!
Shirley and I took our annual tour of Door County during “Pumpkin Fest” this last weekend. We stayed at Alaska Lake (near Kewaunee) with long time friends, Al and Sue Stangel and his brother Don and wife Sharon from Two Rivers. To culminate the trip, Al and Sue have a pontoon boat on the Kewaunee River; taking us to the harbor and to Lake Michigan. What a ride in fall; temps in the 80s with colors waxing! Al deemed me designated captain as we ventured under bridges to the Kewaunee lighthouse. Seas were rolling, preventing going past the lighthouse on to Lake Michigan, as one loses steerage when the prop comes out of the water of a pontoon boat. It was a great get away with friends that were oh-so accommodating! Rog
