POTD: Hoover Dam tailwater

As I was looking for a Picture Of The Day, I found this one from a trip out west recently to Nevada, Utah and Arizona to stay with a friend, Tim Ulrich, who’s Area Manager for Hoover Dam (you can scroll back for earlier POTDs of our trip and adventure).  Be that as it may, I happened on this unique photo Shirley took looking from Tim’s office towards downstream near the base of the dam, with Shirley in the reflection!  She’s seldom in the photos she takes for the site!  Rog

hard water conditions

From the web cam, It appears that hard water conditions are setting in. When we were there  last week, there was a thick layer of ice for about 15 feet from the new low water mark out and then 50 feet of very thin ice from there out.

I have some photos  of the low water/ice conditions that I will post tomorrow.
