hoping for better weather
Even though it is cold and snowy today, it is only about 79 days until the ice will give way to warmer things. Here is a photo from April of last year from the south side of the lake.

You snowmobilers and fishermen might want to note the approximate total of 9″ of snowfall we just got here; a pain to remove for us, however! About 7″ came last night; I removed another 2″ and driveway plow furl this AM. Gonna be cold, so it should be around for awhile. By the way, GO PACK! Rog (Photos by Shirley Birr)
In the afternoon, about 3:00, the fishing population sank abruptly and the lake cleared off. More important things were going on at that time.
There were all sorts of fishing huts and fishermen/women out on the ice before the game. Our gang was skating and picnicing a bit closer to the south shoreline. Earl had his tents set up on the site of the Round Roof where the fish were measured and displayed and raffle prizes were awarded.
The fishing contest was well attended on Saturday. My dog Wilson was looking at all of the participants from the south side of the lake.
