Winter has been fierce this year. We had a sunny 50 degree Sunday last week in Chicago. It knocked down a lot of the snow piles and the snow cover is now an ice cover for most of the lawns. A few spots of green have been sighted. From the web cam it seems that the ice huts have left the lake. Ducks are flying overhead here and the Cardinals are singing again in the morning. Maybe soon it will be over.

Got these photos from Kelly Lake’s Dave Fickenscher of his recent trip to Australia with friend, Jen (she’s from Australia)! I have always wanted to visit Australia! Lucky guys, they are! Here’s Dave’s message:
“Roger and Shirley
Jen and I climbed the Harbor Bridge in Sydney Harbor. It was amazing!!!
The pics with Jen and I are real from the bridge climb in Sydney harbor
taken by our guide. No photo shop for background.

Got this web site from a friend; thought it might while away your winter. I found an old postcard from my old stomping grounds, Two Rivers (a small town of just over 13,000 on Lake Michigan)! Two Rivers way-back-when had a trolly system. You’re looking down mainstreet!

I’ve known Jeff all his life; his dad, Greg, a close friend since I can’t remember when (Greg and I met at Kelly Lake; I’d guess when we were 10; some 49 years ago!)! Jeff’s family/friends threw a party for him in Franklin (southwest of Milwaukee) to celebrate that leap into 30!
Shirley and I changed our plans to attend, with the ominous icy/rain mix moving in. Thus, not being there, I found this photo of Jeff, family and friends that I used on the web site before (Jeff is standing, back row, 5th from left). He and his family/friends put together the “Blue Herry Cup” at Kelly Lake (kinda-like the Survivor show). I’m sure they were there to celebrate also. I’d guess Shirley and I missed a grand time! Happy 30th, Jeff! Rog and Shirley
