We all celebrated Mom’s 97th Birr-thday last weekend, along with Shirley’s Birr-thday and my 60th Birr-thday. Mom was serenaded by Two River’s Lighthouse Inn’s owner Jim and his grandson Christopher VanLanen. Seen here are myself and my three sisters, Ginger, Kay and Karen with mom. Also, are brothers-in-law, Tom Steltz, Bob Strohm and Ron Stangel. Shirley Birr took the photo. Happy Birr-thday all! By the way, we also celebrated Ginger and Tom and Karen and Bob’s 50th anniversaries! All were around the same date as Mom’s 97th! Roger

Seen here at Birr’ Eye View is a pileated woodpecker feeding on a suet block. Slim pickings during this harsh winter; lots of snow and cold. These birds can get 16″ long! I suspect this one is close to that. (Photo by Shirley Birr)

January 12th, 1958 brought Shirley (Stewart) Birr into the world (I know better than to tell a woman’s age!). Wishing my lovely wife of nearly 20 years a Happy, Healthy Birthday!
