Let’s Cheer Him UP!

A while back Todd Yancy suffered a broken leg (in 5 places) in a motorcycle accident and has been laid up ever since. Leslie emailed and said they’re having a party for Todd (was suppose to be a surprise, but she told me to post it; apparently he got the word!). These words and poster from Leslie.   Roger

“… I know he misses all his Kelly Laker’s! He is going for an MRI tomorrow, and is still off of work. Driving him nuts, and numb leg, not to mention he can’t walk on the other one. Bring that skinny guy something really fattening! lol lol! Leslie”

“Titanic Award/Trophy” Third place:  “Raina” piloted by Raina Gerrit.  (Editor’s comment:  Raina was such a lightweight that she went very fast downwind, but couldn’t make it back into the wind and continued to drift out to sea before her dad could come to her rescue!)

1st Annual KLAA Cardboard Boat Race!

I suspect some of you were wondering where the pictures were of last Saturday’s first Cardboard Boat Race sponsored by the Kelly Lake Advancement Association; hosted by Ken Darby. Shirley took numerous photos and is selecting, editing, cropping and enhancing them.   She’s finished!  My job is to reduce and post her photos.

Let me first say that the event was very entertaining and at times hilarious! It was held at Holt Park at 1 PM. One and two-man entries raced individually to a bouy and back to the raft; winner had the best time. Trophies were awarded to those who at least got to the bouy. Three main trophies were 1st Place awarded to the fastest; the Titanic Award for best sinking; and Third Place for I don’t remember?.  I will find out!  More photos and the list to come when we get the results from Sue Darby.  Bear with me and stay tuned.  I think the 1st KLAA Cardboard Boat race will be growing and another source for fun, entertainment and HALARITY!  Roger
