KLPD

This just in from Kelly Lake’s Pat Patterson:

“Fellow Lakers:
See attached picture. The Kelly Lake Police department procured more
grant money from DHS to help create our newly formed KLPD motorcycle
patrol unit. This is just one of several we now have in our fleet.
We needed this due to the many breeches in the KLPD check points
outside of Gillett, O Falls, Lena, and several points North. This
little tiger and his brothers ought to take care of it. If you know
of anyone interested in the MC patrol job, pass the photo around, we
are taking applications. p2″

Lost and Gone?!

Yes, Kelly Lake’s Ron Asp did the dreaded deed… he dropped his Red Razr cell phone (see photo) through his ice hole on Kelly Lake while retrieving a 24″ Northern! As he was on the phone, of which I’m speaking, he noted a tip-up tripping up a red flag (it should have been a “warning”, not an “alert”!). With a quick “I gotta go!”, he inadvertently (more-so not thinking!) slid the phone in his breast pocket (YES, BREAST POCKET! I know you know where I’m going with this!) and bent over the hole, reeling in the line and the catch.  May I add here, ALL YEAR Ron has been ribbing his partner, Steve Zeh, for dropping his phone in the drink!  Ron, what goes around…….

The catch was literally and figuratively, good and bad. Bending over the hole, the phone (just what you figured would happen!) fell with a muted plop, and a lake-heard “OH *#@%!”, from Ron. On knees and elbows, hands cupped around his eyes, peering through the tiny open water for any sight–with mild hope of his folly, he strained, praying that it would settle slowly to the bottom and he miight have a chance to possibly grab it (maybe the “five-second rule” would apply; it works for dropped food on the floor!) and it would still work or at least be dried out.

NOT! It was out of sight. Ron stopped over to ask if I could post the picture of the phone. He still remained hopeful that a fisherman might spot it; catch a fish with it in its belly; or, a swimmer, skier or scuba diver might find it this summer. If so, please call Ron at 920-604.0019. WAIT! That’s the number on his soaked Red Razr! Better call Steve Zeh (Ron’s partner at “A-Z Home Improvements”) at 920.604.0589. This public service IS NOT intended for any of you to call Ron/Steve for harassment or ribbing purposes! I reiterate, NOT for ribbing! Roger

Everything from A to Z!

With Christmas around the corner, Kelly Lake’s Ron Asp and Steve Zeh ( Kelly Lake’s “A to Z Home Improvements”) have been working for several weeks improving Birr’s Eye View; doing everything from a to z. A to Z have worked several years for Shirley and I fixing, changing and improving our home and property. We’ve been quite pleased with their quality work.

I fly at 50,000 feet when I tell Ron and Steve what I would like done. They fly at treetop level and say, “Well, then this is what we have to do!”

Presently, they’re seen adding custom oak shelving (lower shelf and upper, long shelf). A to Z, it looks great! Through the years, their work has included cement, landscaping, installing outdoor spa, patio doors and standard, staircases, etc, all done with a craftsman’s eye and skill.  (“A to Z Home Improvements”:  Ron Asp;  920.604.0019  Steve Zeh;  920.604.0589)

Thanks for the fine work! Rog and Shirley
