“Go Kelly Lake!”

This northern pike just caught by Kelly Lake’s Ron Asp! Thanks, Ron, for sharing and, by the way, nice catch! Rog

“I caught this little guy Saturday night at 5:30; 35 and a half inches, 11 pounds, go Kelly Lake!!”

Web Cam1 Birr’s Eye View bird feeder.

If you note, at the bottom of Cam1′s picture, there’s a bird feeding platform. It needs a little fixin’, but soon should have seed in it and birds looking back at you! There’s a little seed in it now; the rain has washed much of it away!

On occasion, and if I’m watching, I can take a cam snapshot of the birds with Cam1 to put here. Roger

You’re welcome, Dick!

Glad you enjoy the fruits of our labors! Steve and I tried numerous fixes until, “wallah(!), eureka(!), tadaa, we did it!” Arrrgghhhh, ghish!

Trying the new software wasn’t a ‘plug-and-play’ as I had expected. But, to qualify that, I think the coincidence of the router failing, along with the old cam, added to the troubleshooting; they served their usefulness beyond our original expectations. The similar cam and using the old but upgraded software (Active Web Cam) at Dave’s should be a piece of cake (XX XX fingers crossed!).

Going through the troubleshooting has been a good learning process from me, with Steve as my mentor. I’ve written a folder of notes from his expertise, should similar breakdowns occur again.  By the way, I think running the two programs simultaneously (TrendNet and Active Web Cam) created a conflict at times, causing the cam pic to turn off; no problem with it since I closed TrendNet.

The pic sharpness, saturation, brightness/contrast are about as close as I cared to get it at the time; frustration warranted a need to walk away from the confounded-bloomin’-fickle-fandangle-contraption! BUT, with my peripheral vision back, and walking around for a day with tunnel vision after staring down the menacing monitor…, I’m taking a deep breath, a step back and charging forward to meet my nemesis with seemingly a mind of its own! Stay tuned as I adjust for a better look at the lake. Here’s looking at you. Rogfamily-photos-1495

Thanks, Roger

Thank you for all the effort onthe site & web cam.

When I’m stuck in the office, I can take a break and see the

lake now. Yahoo!

Kelly Lake Web Cam1 up-and-running!

Ya, it ain’t the best picture–e.g. focus, staging and/or posturing right now, but after all this time… it’s good enough for now! Steve, the “Kelly Lake Webmeister” and I (mainly Steve) worked out the glitches that even the techs from TrendNet web cams were baffled with. With one last desperate shot, Steve suggested one final attempt! It worked to our jubilation after many trials and errors.

It seemed to be one thing after another; seemingly coincidental–cam, router, new software; back to old software finally worked.

Next, you ask? Yes, I still have a web cam to set up at Fricky’s (for those of you who don’t know, his home is on the east side of the lake; cam will face west.). This cam should be a piece of cake! Thanks for all your patience, and thanks, Steve,  for your time and expertise! Rog
