Remember when you were a kid at Kelly Lake; enjoying the summer?!
Going through the archives I came upon these photos of memories of enjoying the waters all my life.
These pictures are of my daughters, Rebecca (Becky), bailing the rowboat after a summer’s rain for a leisurely rump out on Kelly Lake; Becky, Beth and Laura sailing on Lake Michigan, and me setting out across Lake Michigan. I’m the Capt’n taking their pictures and barking out commands (not really!).
The photos were taken when Becky was about 8 or 9; 26 years ago; her Capt’n was 35! Beth was about 8 and Laura 4, taken a few year later while sailing on Lake Michigan (all three about 4 years difference in age).
Becky and her husband, Tye, have given us three grandchildren; Brenna, Evan and Nathan. Brenna is 7. They help me live my past with the fun and love for the water. Our entire family has enjoyed growing up on Kelly Lake, and on Lake Michigan and on Two Rivers’ two rivers! Roger

“Becky, there’s a no-wake policy here! Slow down!”

Me setting off at 6 AM single-handed across Lake Michigan to Ludington on Quiet Riot. 14 hour sail one way. I was about 35.

Me now at 61!
