Hold all bets! Log Roulette is over.

If you placed your log roulette bet on our spot, you lost! But, you missed it by only one house number.

It was exciting as Shirley and I watched with intense interest as the light wind veered ever-so-slowly, swinging about 5-degrees as the log neared shore! It was actually entertaining for us, even though we lost! Roger

Place your bets!

No ice-out contest, but how about roulette?! What spot will the log land on?! It was left on the ice last winter. It melted free this AM and was being blown to the southwest. HOWEVER, there seems to be a wind shift and it’s edging this way! Place your bets! Roger

Log is about 12′ long and 8-10-inches in diameter. It’s facing away from the cam, to lower right of center on this snapshot from Cam1. You can follow its progress on Cam1.

Early bird at sunrise.

Happened to check Cam1 at 7:30 this AM. Birds have found the feed in front of the web cam. Roger

The Outsyde Inn articles; from Pat Frank

This from Pat Frank, along with a request for the kellylake.net viewers. Roger

“Good morning Roger (and Shirley),

Here are the pages from Joanne’s 1998 article in the OTH.

This week I was up to Oconto Falls for the memorial services for my uncle, Eugene Behling. His daughters and their families were there and after the solemnity we all talked about the reunion in July.

Terry, Kathy and Karen are all looking forward to the “family” getting together. They rent a cabin every year, for a week in July, just south of Lover’s Lane. This year they will be staying another week to “play with their cousins” after the reunion – its going to be a GREAT time.

I still can’t get a login and password to the web site, so I will have to relay through you. Here is what I am trying to do:

I am investigating the history of the north half of Section 5, Town 21, Range 19E. This is the land on the east shore of the lake bounded on the south by Holiday Inn Road, the north by County G (as it turns East to Parkway Road), on the west by Kelly Lake and the east by Parkway Road. Of particular interest is Government Lot #1, which is the property on both sides of the road from the Holiday Inn up to the boatlanding.

Having spent a few hours at the Oconto County Register of Deeds, I realized that I was basically doing property abstract work. I would like to request the owners of the properties in this Government Lot #1 to share their title abstracts with me. Every property has one and they are usually updated everytime property changes hands. It’s all public record.

Would it be appropriate for me to “give a shout out” the th folks on the east shore, via you web site, asking for their help?

I’ll probably be back up to the lake next week, furthering my investigations into the history of the east shore. I’ll give you a call to see if you are around.

Take care,

Patrick T. Frank”

Thanks, Steve!

The new face on the site looks great, not to mention the upgrades. I’ll have the cam ready. Dave Fickenscher is suppose to stop over this weekend for a visit. I’ll see if we can coordinate a day (or get his house key) to do the Cam2 installation. I’ll let you know before you waste a trip up! Rog
