“Darling, of course I do.”

“Frat Pack” and friends!

I finally got around to organize and format these pics of our “Frat Pack” (old high school friends reunited after 40 years) and friends who got together in Two Rivers last week for a four-day walk-about in Two Rivers and its museums; old landmarks like the Two Rivers Fishing Village,Washington House, Kurtz’s. and one of our old stompin’ grounds, Port Sandy Bay (lots of pizzas and plenty of ale!); and landmarks no longer their like our Alma Mater, Washington High School, torn down to put up residential complexes.

The “Frat Pack” originated when our friend, Tim Ulrich (Retired Manager of Hoover Dam) invited us out Hoover Dam a couple years ago for a week’s tour of the Dam, beginning with two nights in Vegas (a term taken from the infamous “Rat Pack”–Dean Martin, Joey Bishop, Frank Sanatra, Sammy Davis, Jr and Peter Lawford).  From there we toured the Dam and the beautiful landscapes and vistas  of Utah and Nevada.  This all came about after our 40th reunion in TR in ’07.  Since then the six of us have been in constant touch via e-mail and visits together in TR and here at Kelly Lake–were planning a get together up here in the next few days with some of them, including Tim and his wife, Sue.  We stay with Frat Pack member, Bill Glandt (retired, and once was a TR Policeman) and his wife, Sherri, when down in  TR.

Leigh Bohne, an architecture designer and artist, came this year for a wedding; Leigh resides in Tampa; he hadn’t been back to TR for 35 years!  Boy, did he relive some memories!  He mentioned how even the air had a familiar scent that seemed indigenous to our small community, Two Rivers on the Lake shore.  Thus, we planned our FP reunion around his schedule.  John Torrens and his wife, Sharon, from Sun Prairie, WI couldn’t make it.   Pete Kolemberg, from North Carolina, is busy looking at relocating somewhere down there–perhaps in Tennessee.  Leigh’s twin sister, Lynn and her husband, Pete Isaacson, joined in in our ruckus and bantering, jokes and wit; they’re from Milwaukee.  I guess we could say Lynn’s an “Honorary Member” now–a grad from Washington High, and twin to Leigh.

Well, here are some of the pics for them, including pic of Tim when he followed us up from TR for the day to Kelly Lake; we’re making plans for a few days’ stay before he heads back August 8th to Utah. I’ll post a couple after their visit to Kelly Lake soon.  Roger

We went to our old watering hole, Port Sandy Bay, for pizza and beer.

Last remaining monolith filled with a million memories  of four years; the monolith has been removed, but the million memories remain.

July 28th moonrise.

After last year, this spring and summer have been ideal for Shirley and I.  Early spring weather starting already the beginning of March had us at least six months ahead for getting painting, yard work , dock and boats in early; gettiong a jump on sitting back and enjoying the sun and water.

We’ve had plenty of rain to bring the lake level up (my benchmark reads a good 4 1/2″), and plenty of sun and warm weather as the rain and storms passed.  Sunrises and moonrises were abundant compared to a year ago; the cold damp rainy spring and much of summer ’09; it didn’t get summer-like until Labor Day then.  We still have a few months of good weather to enjoy.

Shirley and I sat out at length last night enjoying the moonrise from our deck.  Here’s a remnant captured for you by Shirley.  Roger
