Rentals

Dear Roger,
I saw your note asking if anyone had a cottage on the lake for rent. We just bought Don and Nancy Jackson’s beautiful house at 9377 County G and are planning to rent it. Right now we are renovating it, with the help of Jeff and Ron, and plan to rent it as soon as we are ready. We have four bedrooms and a panoramic view of the lake. If I can provide more information, my email is: [email protected] I am part of the Ryan family and we have been at Kelly Lake for over 50 years!
Thanks,
Mary Anne and Jim O’Regan
Here’s a list of rentals I’ve received so far.  Contact me if you have or know of one for rent ([email protected]).  Roger

I am interested in renting a campsite or a cottage for the 4th of July celebration weekend. I have tried all the phone numbers on previous posts and none seem to be working.

    Hello Kelly Lakers,

I was wondering if anybody could help me out with a rental possibly. Growing up I spent every summer coming up to Kelly Lake at least once. I’m actually a great grandchild of the Banister family. Did anybody know Guy or Mary? I thought I’d be going there for the rest of my life, but many years ago the cottage was sold to a David F.

I’m coming up sometime in August with my parents and sisters for my usual trip to Packers training camp. We’re from Chicago. I wanted to see what options are out there for renting a cottage anywhere from 2-5 days (wrapping around a weekend). Can anybody help me out?

On a side note, every summer my family would notch our height into the doorway trim. I was up there a couple years ago and met the owner and talked to him about letting me replace the door frame and take those panels. He wasn’t excited about the idea and liked the originality it gave the place. I hope this time around I can talk him into it.

Still can’t get through to Kellly Lake Motel with your phone no. and same thing with Holt Park Campground at 920-8422395. Recording says that numbers are no good. Maybe you should call yourself and see what I mean. 411 also tried to connect me but same results. Thanks Vic

Vic, that’s the number in the new phone book for the motel. You’re right, same recording. Campground? I have no clue, as new manager is there (Gary and Sue Sutrick); old number was listed. Call the Kwik Stop—Earl Macha’s place. 920.842.2122 (Earl’s home phone unlisted, I found out!) Kwik Stop’s closed now. Sorry…

      Thanks… Roger

        Vic, it dawned on me that the motel number was the same as the Round Roof, which burned down a couple of years ago. Earl owned the RR, still owns the motel and kwik stop. 842.2122 is the Kwik Stop. They’ll have the number for motel. Ask about park, also;

Holt Park campground phone #920-842-4433 the “2395″ number is our old home phone number, my mother took care of the campground for many years and everyone had our home number wrote down instead of the campground. :) Also the motel reservations are handled thru the Kwikstop 920-842-2122

    Hello,

My family and I have been renting at Kelly Lake for over 25 years now. During the early years we rented from the Carpio family until they sold their property. Next, we rented the Split Joint for around 15 years until the owners decided to move in to their place instead of using it as a vacation home. My family still rents one other property on the lake (can’t remember name right now) but it is not big enough to accomodate the entire family. I would love to be able to keep our family traidition alive and continue to rent on Kelly Lake. We have tried searching for other properties with little luck. If anyone has any information on where I could look, who I could talk to, or has a place they would be willing to rent, please let me know.

I can provide references to the previous rental owners we have stayed with. My family takes extremely good care of the places we stay at and before we leave we give the place a spring cleaning!

My email address is: [email protected]

    Thanks!

Hi Roger! (and everyone else who might read this)

My family and I had a wonderful evening tonight eating at the Holiday Inn and taking a nostalgic walk around the lake. We viewed the well-marked lake access points, Holt Park Campground, Kelly Lake Kwik Stop … and many beautiful cabins, cottages, and summer homes. Tonight was the first time I’d really been back to enjoy the lake in about 7 years … and I was amazed at all of the positive changes.

After being at Kelly Lake since 1977 …my father sold his place about 6 years ago because of an illness he endured. It was very nice to see that the new owners have been taking exceptional care of our past home. One thing the experience my family has gone through has taught me to try not to take anything for granted and appreciate every moment I have. I also thank my parents and “lake friends” for giving me many “lake memories” to grow up with. The memories are priceless. I hope to help my own children obtain memories similar to some I had growing up … but I have a feeling it may be more through a rental property than owning one (owning one is a lot of work!). So … I’ll have to keep my eyes open for rentals in the coming years. :o )

I also want to thank you Roger tonight for our upbeat conversation at the Holiday Inn. It really was an enjoyable evening! I must say I am also very impressed with your web site. Very Nice!

    Jennifer

Was wondering if you could add Holt Park Campground to your list of Local Business. Not sure why but I have been hearing from alot of people that it is hard to find info on the Kelly Lake Campground. The contact number is still 920-842-4433.

Was there a Michael Zalusky? I remember an incident there where a teen drowned water sking around 1970…and that name sounds like one I recognize as the teen.

I believe that was ‘Zelinski’. I had a friend Mark Zelinski from the Krakow area whose brother drowned water skiing on Kelly Lake back then. Mark had cousins Charlie and Pete Zelinski who lived on K next to Fabry Farms. My wife is Linda (Fabry) Theisen. I recall that he didn’t know how to swim and was using one of those old ‘ski belts’ that was easy to slip out of. Those aren’t approved for use anymore.

Russ and Mary are my aunt and uncle. Grandpa and Grandma owned the pharmacy in Gillet and then it got turned over to uncle Skeets. It has long been sold and now they are enjoying retirement. Let me know what you need to get back in touch and I can get them your information!
