…new owners of the Kelly Lake Kwik Stop!
James and Debbie Sohr:
Jim was born in Escanaba, Michigan. He worked for Nelson Freight in Peshtigo, WI. Jim lived in Peshtigo when he met his wife, Debbie! Jim and Debbie married in Marinette, WI at the River’s Edge Restaurant, which was owned by Jim’s father, Fran Sohr and Fran’s wife, Kathy. Soon after, Jim and Debbie relocated to Elk Grove Village, IL. Jim attended DeVry University, majoring in Computer Information Systems, and graduating in Suma Cumae Lade.
Jim and Debbie have two children, Jackie and Sam. Jim attended school while caring for their newborn, Sam! Both children were born on the same day, 10 years apart! Jackie is currently living in and attending college in Illinois.
Debroah (Debbie) was born in Chicago, IL. Debbie’s mother was born and raised in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The immediate family relocated to Illinois in search of work. Debbie spent a great deal of time with her grandparents, the Larsons of Iron Mountain, often spending hours fishing, blueberry picking or hunting with her grandfather, Everett. Debbie is an accountant, QuickBooks Pro Advisor and has 15+ years preparing taxes, having worked for a public tax firm in Illinois.
Often you will hear Debbie and Jim say, “we came home”, both having ties to the area! Both are excited about the opportunity to purchase the Kelly Lake Kwik Stop and serve the Kelly Lake Community. Debbie and Jim both encourage is that if there is anything you would like them to do doing differently, please stop in and let them know… they will make every effort to accommodate your requests!
Thanks to Debbie for her helpfulness in sharing their background, and getting to know them all the better!
Welcome to Kelly Lake! Roger
