We used to have a contest here on this site to see when the ice would go out. Based on Steve’s chilling information (or should I say, Peg and/or Janet’s), when do you predict the ice will ‘freeze-over’?
This from Kelly Lake’s Steve Hagins: “While I’m home for the winter in 70 degree Alabama, I am continuing to filter through stuff from our pack-rat family. Among my mother Janet Hagins’s papers were some notes when the lake froze over the years. Since Mom was never there long after Labor Day, I am confident this was a list given to her by Peggy Niemann. As most of you wait for the onset of serious cold, I thought this might be something interesting to consider. Hope to see you in the spring!”
Hope to see you, too, Steve! Thanks for sharing! Roger
