Yes, no female would have sculptured a “water closet” with the seat up!… a gentleman would have placed it down! But, that’s beside the point! A neighbor down-the-line created this familiar household convenience over the weekend—large enough for the Abominable Snowman!
Thomas Crapper—an English plumber and businessman—invented the toilet in the mid-1800s, improving it with a “U-bend” in 1880. Probably something you don’t necessarily care to remember!
By the way!… I was an apprentice plumber (a trade!), attending vocational school right out of high school for several months before deciding to go to college to become a teacher… later a professional firefighter.
I learned enough to fix most of the plumbing in our house, though not for hire, which was well-worth the apprentice experience—if you ever had to call a plumber! The unique snow sculpture is a reminder of what we’d do without it! Roger
