Again, sad news learning that a long time friend, cottage on White Lake, has passed away—his wife, Stephanie, passed away in March.
I met Allen close to 40 years ago through his son and daughter, Brad and Lisa —Brad and Lisa joined, and were active with the original Kelly Lake Naiad Ski Club in ’79.
Allen was also a sailing enthusiast, and we set a date to go sailing on our 22′ sloop, “Quiet Riot”—sharing our sailing experience and stories; Brad also is a sailing enthusiast… we shared a lot of similar interests and camaraderie.

It saddened our hearts when Stephanie passed away last year, now we feel the loss again with Allen’s passing. It’s remarkable, after reading Allen’s obituary, his accomplishments and life’s story….
Both Allen and Stephanie were wonderful to be around, wonderful to call friends—even though there was an 18 year gap in our ages—wonderful parents who raised some wonderful kids, who now have children of their own (“the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”), that we’re proud to call our friends.
I don’t often write lengthy comments and share my (our) sentiments, but they were special… Shirley and I really enjoyed their company, running into them at Romy’s, visiting their cottage and our time on the lake…we will miss them. Fond and fun memories remain, however. Roger
