What a pleasant surprise when an old friend showed-up at our door unannounced! Before you read on, guess who this guitarist/vocalist is who played with some notable bands?…and he and I jammed together back in the late ’60s and ’70s when he lived here. You would probably have had a cottage/home back then to remember. He and I were good friends way back then—I stood up for his wedding!
Another hint: His parents, Mel and Merle (deceased), owned a grocery store here for several years. Mel was also instrumental in bringing sewers to Kelly Lake in the early 70s! Mel is 94, living in Green Bay, and is doing well. They and the family knew just about everybody back then, and they were well-known in the area.
Well, our special guest was Paul Lemmar. Paul is 68, living in Colorado; he came back to visit his dad in Green Bay, and further north to Kelly Lake to reunite with old friends.
What a pleasant visit, reminiscing about the many great times we spent together here at Kelly Lake; perhaps 40-some years! I commented: “Thank God we both lived long enough to get together once again!” Roger
