The falling leaves are leaving trees nearly barren. Remnants of last night’s 1-3″ snowfall add a pretty picture for a little while, before the sun and mild-warmup melts the snow away; drab, lack-luster, bare trees reveal themselves once again.
Temps go down to somewhere in the low-20s at night, while elsewhere they move somewhat in the mid-forties during the day; a perfect example of transfer from fall to winter.
Slow as this transfer seems to be, it gradually acclimates us into full-blown winter; which will be addressed in days and weeks to come. But, never fear[!], it won’t be long before Shirley will be sharing the transfer from winter to spring!…but don’t hold your breath! Enjoy these early snowfalls. Roger
