We love Kelly Lake! We love the fun, swimming, fishing and boating! Now’s the time to put words into action!
I received a message from Kelly Lake’s Rebecca Fabry. Volunteers are still needed to fulfill our pledge/commitment of 200 hours of volunteer work to secure another grant (the last was about $20,000). Volunteers are credited $12.00/hour to monitor the boat landings and educate boaters who launch or haul-out their boats about Eurasian milfoil, how it’s transported from lake to lake, what to look for, and what to do with the invasive species.
Of the 200 hours, we’re 38 hours short—needed by October 31st. It’s easy to do, and you can take others along to help, racking up more hours.
Now’s the time to give back by taking an hour or so to relax at a boat landing and spread the word to control the spread of this aquatic invasive species (AIS)—guaranteed to hamper fun, swimming, fishing, boating AND property value… if we wait!
